Vernetta Lopez is a Singaporean actress and a radio DJ for Class 95FM. She is remembered for her television role as Denise, in the Singapore TV production sitcom Under One Roof. Lopez is of Portuguese and Thai ancestry from her father as well as Peranakan from her mother.[1]

In 1997, Lopez was married to 987FM programme director, Mark Richmond. The couple divorced in 2001.
She married British software engineer Wayne Gladwin, on July 25, 2009.[2]

Vernetta's actual first television appearance was for a music television program called NiteRage, where from 5 hosts, it was streamlined to just 2; Vernetta Lopez and Bernard Lim. Starring in Singapore's first family sitcom shot Vernetta to confirmed stardom in the 90s. Playing Denise, the comedy hit record breaking ratings and started Vernetta on her acting career professionally. From there she has starred in various productions and taken on roles that have ranged from daughters to mothers and from doctors to mental patients She starred in other television sitcoms like, 'Can I Help You', 'First Touch', 'Shiver', 'Random Acts', 'Big Day Out', and coming up in Jan 2011, the Okto Channel's 'Zero Hero', playing Lady Magnificent alongside Timothy Nga. She also stomped the comedy floorboards in 'What the Butler Saw', starring Gerald Chew. Vernetta has also starred RainTree Production's of the movie, 'The Leap Years', starring alongside Li Lin, Nadya Hutagalung, and Paula Malai Ali and cameod for 'City Sharks'.
Vernetta has been a familiar voice on the radio for the last 16 years, starting as a DJ on Heart 91.3, to Perfect 987FM and to her current gig as part of the morning trio with Glenn Ong and Mark Van Cuylenberg on the Morning Express on Class 95, a Singapore's English radio station. Having won several Favorite Radio DJ over several years, Vernetta still laughs it up every morning from 6am to 10am on Class 95FM (95.0FM).
She describes herself as a Full-Time, Part-Timer, i.e. she is a Free Agent but has a regular radio show from Monday to Friday and also has project work for television or movies.
In an interview in 2005, Lopez and her mother claimed that they were of African ancestry dating back to about 150,000 years. According to them, they had discovered this after taking a DNA test.
